church

Here is my latest piece.  I got inspiration for this from a really cool looking cathedral I saw in a photo.  I designed the architecture in Rhino and Maya, used a little z brush and painted it up in Photoshop.  Please leave feedback.

Thanks,

Gurmukh

2010 Grad projects revisited in photoshop

Here are a few of my SCI-Arc projects that I touched up in photoshop.  I decided to do a few day and night renders of a few old projects to bring some life to them.

Internship at Roto Architects Summer 2003

During my internship at Roto Architects, I worked on many high profile projects, but I spent most of my time building this model pictured here.  The model was a sectional model built for a residential project called the cliff side residence in Malibu CA.  Unfortunately the project is not going to be built but it was published in GA houses of un-built works.

2004 Downtown and Around Project Under Graduate Architectural Studies at Arizona State University

4th year spring 2004 studio.

This project is from my last studio at ASU.  Our task was to design the new ASU downtown campus (a project that was really happening at the time).  Please look at image 1 for my design description.

2003 San Diego Highrise Housing Project Under Graduate Architectural Studies at Arizona State University

4th year fall 2003 ASU.

This project is designed for little Italy in Downtown San Diego.  The concept for this project is to build a steel frame high rise building but only build the steel frame first.  After the frame is built the housing units would be added to the building as they are sold.  The units will be craned into their place according to the buyers choice.  the building will slowly fill up but never fill to 100% capacity.  Please look at image 1 to read more.

2003 Cafe Project Project Under Graduate Architectural Studies at Arizona State University

This project is from 3rd year 2003 at ASU.  The projects was to design a cafe next to the architecture building and to study the structure of the design in our structures class.  So I decided to design a building that accentuated the structure.  The design uses a truss system for the second floor, allowing the bottom floor to be completely free of columns.  The truss structure becomes the wall partitions with glass wedged into the truss to create the walls.  Go to the first image of this project to read more about the design.

2003 Tract Housing Project Under Graduate Architectural Studies at Arizona State University

I am adding my undergraduate portfolio pages of my favorite projects from ASU.  These works were completed between 2002-2004 in my upper division architecture studios while I was at ASU.  If you search through the images you can find description on the projects.

This project is a tract housing project where you design one house and it will be built to make a whole community.  My approach was to design a house that is the same form, but always changing because of use of colors, silhouettes, and movable rooms.  Read the description in the first image if you would like to hear more.
