WIP

Here is a concept design I am working on for a grid city that grows and floats around in outer space.  This is just one piece of many parts that will come together to make a large grid that is the floating city.  I hope to have the 3D model built and painted before the week is over.

Keep in mind that it is a work in progress and I will get the finished image to you soon.  Thanks for checking it out.

church

Here is my latest piece.  I got inspiration for this from a really cool looking cathedral I saw in a photo.  I designed the architecture in Rhino and Maya, used a little z brush and painted it up in Photoshop.  Please leave feedback.

Thanks,

Gurmukh

Red Engine Advanced Environment Design week 1 Home Work

Here is my week 1 homework for Jung Parks Advanced Env. Design class.  I spent most of the week working on this drawing which cut into the time I needed to spend working on my other classes home works.  I need to manage my time better now that I have a lot on my plate with the three classes I am taking.

It was very fun working in only pencil, I haven't drawn like this for a long time.  I kept wanting to ctrl. Z for undo but didn't have that option with the traditional medium.  I definitely caught a lot of details that I would have missed if just doing this in Photoshop and feel like after this pencil drawing, my digital paintings will get much better.

Environment Design with Jung Park week 4-5 Homework

Here is my interior render for week 4-5.  I had a lot of work to do on it and finally finished it.  I think I was too stiff with this image.  Oh well time to move on to new projects.  The story is supposed to be some kind of religious secrete society, kind of like the Da Vinci Code.

Red Engine Environment Design week 7 homework

Here is my last assignment for the environment design class I took at Red Engine.  The assignment was to do a action painting so I chose to do a desert war painting.  I had a lot of fun with this painting and with the class.  If you are looking to learn about environment design or want to become a better illustrator, you should definitely check out Red Engine for classes.  You will learn a lot and have a lot of fun doing it.

2010 Intro to Environment Design - Jung Park- term 1 at Red Engine

Here are some of my works from  my intro to environment design course taught by Jung Park at my first term at Red Engine.  I know that the paintings need some work but I am throwing them up on here for now and will replace them after I do more work on them.  I have learned a lot so far and am really enjoying the class.  I am signed up to take 3 more classes next term so I will be adding a lot of work on here in the next few months.  Enjoy!
