Red Engine Advanced Environment Design week 1 Home Work

Here is my week 1 homework for Jung Parks Advanced Env. Design class.  I spent most of the week working on this drawing which cut into the time I needed to spend working on my other classes home works.  I need to manage my time better now that I have a lot on my plate with the three classes I am taking.

It was very fun working in only pencil, I haven't drawn like this for a long time.  I kept wanting to ctrl. Z for undo but didn't have that option with the traditional medium.  I definitely caught a lot of details that I would have missed if just doing this in Photoshop and feel like after this pencil drawing, my digital paintings will get much better.

Ancient Ruins

Did this as a test to see how I can work from Maya-ZBrush_Photoshop.  I definitely learned a lot of what not to do from Maya-ZBrush part of the process but I was still able to salvage the model and come up with a nice painting anyway.  It was a good learning process and will continue to figure out my work flow.  Enjoy!

Gnomon Masters Tutorial ZBrush for environments

Here are a few quick renders from what I created while following the Gnomon Zbrush for environments tutorial.  Zbrush is such an amazing program and so fun to use.  I look forward to using it more and more and to getting better at it.  I know the renders could use some depth etc...  But I am moving on to a project of my own and will render that one much better.  Let me know what you think.

Environment Design with Jung Park week 4-5 Homework

Here is my interior render for week 4-5.  I had a lot of work to do on it and finally finished it.  I think I was too stiff with this image.  Oh well time to move on to new projects.  The story is supposed to be some kind of religious secrete society, kind of like the Da Vinci Code.

Red Engine Environment Design week 7 homework

Here is my last assignment for the environment design class I took at Red Engine.  The assignment was to do a action painting so I chose to do a desert war painting.  I had a lot of fun with this painting and with the class.  If you are looking to learn about environment design or want to become a better illustrator, you should definitely check out Red Engine for classes.  You will learn a lot and have a lot of fun doing it.

2010 Intro to Environment Design - Jung Park- term 1 at Red Engine

Here are some of my works from  my intro to environment design course taught by Jung Park at my first term at Red Engine.  I know that the paintings need some work but I am throwing them up on here for now and will replace them after I do more work on them.  I have learned a lot so far and am really enjoying the class.  I am signed up to take 3 more classes next term so I will be adding a lot of work on here in the next few months.  Enjoy!

2010 Grad projects revisited in photoshop

Here are a few of my SCI-Arc projects that I touched up in photoshop.  I decided to do a few day and night renders of a few old projects to bring some life to them.
